TTS donation fees compared for 2026.

October 30, 2026

Fees checked October 30, 2026 from each vendor’s own pages and worked out at published US rates for a US card. TTS.fish is our product; the math shows where it wins and where it doesn’t.

Every TTS tool has two costs: what is taken from each message, and what you pay each month for AI voices. Payment processing applies almost everywhere: Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ on a US card, and PayPal, which Streamlabs and Sound Alerts tips run through, charges 2.99% to 3.49% + 49¢. The difference is what each platform adds on top.

Fees on a single message

These examples use standard US card rates. Your Stripe rate and international-card or currency-conversion fees can change the total. Each fee is rounded to the nearest cent.

Compare your monthly total

Multiply the transaction cost by the number of messages you expect, then add any AI-voice subscription. TTS.fish has no monthly fee, but its transaction costs at these rates are higher than the other tools in the table. A subscription can cost less overall as volume grows.

One honest exception: if you stream on Twitch, take tips on Streamlabs or StreamElements, and get fewer than 400 AI-voiced alerts a month, TTSLabs’ free tier adds AI voices for nothing beyond processing. For a small Twitch channel that’s hard to beat.

Fees aren’t the whole cost

  • When the viewer is charged. On Streamlabs and Ko-fi the viewer pays when they send the tip. KickBot holds the payment and collects it when the tip starts to play. TTS.fish holds it until the message finishes, so even skipping a message mid-play costs the viewer nothing.
  • Chargebacks. Streamlabs lists a $15 fee on card tips, waived if you win, and $20 on PayPal tips. KickBot and VoxBot pay and fight the chargeback fee for you, though the tip itself comes out of your balance while the dispute is open. On TTS.fish the full amount of a disputed message (our fee isn’t refunded) and Stripe’s $15 dispute fee come out of your balance. If the bank rules in your favor, the message amount comes back, but Stripe keeps its fee.
  • Setup. A tip page plus an alert tool plus an AI-voice add-on is three things to wire together. An all-in-one paid-TTS tool like TTS.fish, Tipi.ee, or VoxBot is one account, one link for viewers, and one browser source.

Choosing a tool

  • Plain tips read aloud, lowest cost: Streamlabs or Ko-fi on tips above about $5.
  • AI voices on a small Twitch channel already on Streamlabs or StreamElements:TTSLabs’ free tier.
  • Pay-per-message AI TTS with no subscription: TTS.fish or Tipi.ee. Compare the transaction fees and the voices and moderation controls you need.
  • Someone else to pay and fight chargeback fees: VoxBot or KickBot.
